Eighty-one percent of political donations from NBA owners go to the Republican Party

NBA owners gave Republicans far more than Democrats ahead of November presidential election, according to high-profile report by John Gonzalez from The Ringer.
Since the beginning of the electoral cycle in 2019, by The Ringer, 80.9% of political donations from NBA owners went to Republicans, with 18.4% going to Democrats. (The remaining tiny percentage went to bipartisan causes.)
Federal Election Commission records show NBA owners donated $14.9 million to Republican politicians overall, The Ringer revealed.
Plus, five NBA owners have contributed directly to the president donald trump – Los Angeles Lakers Jim BusOrlando Magic’s Dan DeVosNew York Knicks James DolanHouston Rockets’ Tilman Fertitta and the San Antonio Spurs Juliana Holt.
Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks wes-eden and Marc Lasrythe wizards of washington Ted LeonsisSacramento Kings Vivek Ranadiveboston celtics Wyc Grousbeck and Jeanie Buss of the Lakers donated strictly to Democrats.
Along with this, the report found that the 10 owners who donated the most to political causes gave more than 75% of those political contributions to Republican causes.
Owner of the Dallas Mavericks Marc Cuban told The Ringer that he does not donate to politicians. “I value my independence very much,” he said in an email.
He added: “I speak to owners and players who are ‘conservative’ when it comes to financial issues, but at the same time very ‘liberal’ when it comes to social issues.”
Trump recently addressed the NBA’s declining ratings, telling OutKick’s Clay Travis, “I think the NBA has big problems – more problems than they realize.”
